JaeCea Carlie (JC) is a mixed media artist located in Los Angeles, California and Vail, Colorado. Their work centers queer eco-futurism entangled with material science and critical studies. They explore the fluidity and parallels between water and body. Investigating destruction, attempted repair, healing and alternative ways of being. Their research based practice is informed by biomaterials science, embodied experience, socio-cultural norms, and environmental activism. Expanding on the lineages of deconstruction art, assemblage, Trompe-l’oeil, and speculative futurism.
